Family tree of Dreamville [Mar. 2nd, 2008|12:43 am]

I'm currently playing generation 35 (status: March 2008) of my neighborhood Dreamville. I'm using the freeware tool Ahnenblatt to organize my sims and to create family trees (I'm afraid it's only available in German, but it's not that difficult to use!). If you're brave enough to take a look at that HUGE jpg-file Ahnenblatt created for my neighborhood then click here:

Don't complain about the time it took your PC to load this, I told you that it's huge ... *LOL*

*LOL* Thanks - I can't believe how huge that thing has become. Worst thing of all, I can perfectly remember every single one of these sims. Does that qualify me for a nice little room in the local asylum? :D

You would definitely win that "Populate an Empty Hood" challenge lol.

I don't think I've ever played a neighborhood (other than with legacies) past the third generation. Holy CRAP, that's amazing. *admires*

*LOL* Thanks - in the past I usually started over after generation five or something, so I'm very surprised myself that I'm still interested in these sims ... :)

Wow! This is awesome!

When I first got Sims this was my plan and it would have worked too if Uni hadn't messed up my hoods. (Back then I didn't know anything about backing up)

*attempts to pick up jaw but fails*
Two questions... How LONG have you been playing?? And how many sims part of the family?
Seriously, it's astonishing... Congrats for it! *bows*

*LOL* Thanks! :) I started that neighborhood almost a year ago. At the moment there are 523 sims in that family, but they're not all shown in the family tree. When I tell Ahnenblatt to include the spouses of my sims in the tree it kind of hangs up and doesn't draw all of the branches anymore ... *LOL*

*LOL* Thank you so much - or I'm simply too attached to this neighborhood ... At the moment I'm playing generation 33, I'm really curious how far I can go!

That's really impressive!

What program did you use to create the tree?

Thanks! :D As I said in my post, I use the tool "Ahnenblatt" to create that tree:

http://www.ahnenblatt.de/

I'm afraid it's only available in German, but once you know the meanings of the labels it's really easy to use! :)

Sorry. I was so distracted by the tree that I didn't even notice that you wrote an intro. :)

Haha, thanks! You didn't actually count them, did you? :O The spouses aren't displayed in the family tree, it only shows the born-in-game sims. And I need to update the picture, I've reached the letter "L" by now ... *LOL*

No I didn't, I cheated & saw you wrote it in another comment =P
That's just awe-inspiring though.
Have you a set goal to reach or it is just a matter of how long can they go?

I'm just curious how far I can go before I lose interest in the hood. This is (obviously) the farthest I've ever gone, so I'm anxious to see how long this will last ... :D

Thank you! :D Not really proud, I'm rather amazed at myself for playing this family for so long without giving up. I think it's because of the many good-looking sims I downloaded from other LJ or forum members for marrying them into the family ... ;)
